René Koch AG, a provider in the area of communications and security, employs over 50 staff members. Since 1965, quality products have been manufactured and services provided locally, and today René Koch AG is the market leader for intercoms and video door communication systems. The production line in the main facility at the Zurichsee produces a range of high-quality standard products and configures customised systems.

Conceptualisations, planning and the stable value products of René Koch create complete solutions for individual customer needs. The divisions are video door speaker systems, intercoms, video monitoring, security and information.


The Decision for DOCUframe®

“Most importantly, we wanted to replace Outlook and implement a full document management system. We looked around on the market and found DOCUframe® from GSD Software mbH. We came very quickly to the conclusion that no comparable document management system was available on the market. The integrated procedure administration and the flexibility of DOCUframe® especially fascinated us.
A particular highlight is that now, contrary to the past, all documents for an order are collected centrally in a process and so retrieving a particular document is child’s play,” recalls Mr. Marcarini, Managing Director of René Koch AG.


The Main Deciding Factor - Flexibility

“A crucial purchase argument was the high flexibility of DOCUframe®, since it allowed custom adjustments to be accomplished to a large extent by us and we don’t always necessarily need a programmer. To do that, we went through the product-specific training courses with GSD Software,” states Mr Marcarini.


For which tasks is DOCUframe® used?

“For all of our communications, both internally and externally! In addition to sales and CRM, all our products are archived in DOCUframe® so that all pictures, technical designs and documents are attached to their respective product,” explains Mr Marcarini.

In the near future, through the Workflow components integrated in DOCUframe®, certain operational procedures will be automated and thus the possibilities of DOCUframe® are utilised to an even greater extent.

Mr. Marcarini, Managing Director of René Koch AG, summarises the benefits of DOCUframe: “We eliminated the mass of paper faxes we received daily; everything now runs centrally in DOCUframe®. At the same time, the quick retrieval of documents is an immense workload off our shoulders. In the past, we collected and filed all information, faxes and all documents on paper in files. Finding the respective relevant documents was our largest problem; since using DOCUframe® we save, on the average, 45 minutes of work time per workers per day!”

“The total costs for the acquisition and implementation of DOCUframe® have paid for themselves within one and a half years,” states Marcarini.


What is planned for the future?

“Like we referred to earlier, we will develop the integrated Workflow components further. Furthermore, we plan to tie into DOCUframe® the optional module for the personnel time registration from GSD Software mbH. We also are very interested in utilising the available internet link of DOCUframe® soon for detailed customer orders and enquiries. In addition, we want to use the optional component, mobileCLIENT, from GSD Software to be able to use the benefits of DOCUframe® even when we are on the road.”
