Flexible Data Access – A Persuasive Factor for Prefabricated Construction


Adlerhaus builds dreams...

Adlerhaus GmbH of Nordhalben/Upper Franconia develops prefabricated houses with low energy consumption using complete timber panel construction. Started as a one-man operation in 1949, today this medium-sized enterprise employs 31 staff members and erects prefabricated buildings all across Germany - each with consideration to the individual requirements of their owners.

Adlerhaus combats rising energy costs in housing with its modern, solidly-crafted, low-energy house. A computer-controlled scantling processor fully automates the production of the entire timber construction and manufactures the most complicated construction units within minutes. Specialists with decades of experience in timber construction take care of the precise assembly of the elements and the reliable development on-site. Every Adlerhaus is planned, tailored, and implemented according to the wishes of each customer. From the beginning of 2006, Adlerhaus and their long standing partner, KLIMAPLUS Holzhausbau, have joined forces in one combined enterprise.

The quality work of Adlerhaus has already been honoured with several awards. One of these is Adlerhaus’ recognition since 2005, as one of only a few Bavarian enterprises, with the Meisterhaft certificate rating as a 5-Star business - the highest valuation. In 2004, Adlerhaus received the RAL quality mark RAL GZ-422 both for manufacturing as well as assembly. Thus not only the production, but also Adlerhaus’ assembly and development are certified of the highest quality.



The Decision for DOCUframe®

Even the internal Data Management at Adlerhaus needs to function perfectly. Before the use of DOCUframe®, the enterprise worked with a classical filing system – which was, according to staff statements, a “wonderful data mess.” Since work is ongoing at many building sites at the same time, safe remote access to all important enterprise and building site data is indispensable - a condition which could not be fulfilled by the previous software. DOCUframe® offered the ideal solution.



The Main Argument: A Recommendation

Georg Beetz joined Adlerhaus in 2002 and knew DOCUframe® from his former company as a software solution for document management, archiving, communications and workflow. Due to his extremely positive experiences, he recommended GSD software to his new employer. And indeed, DOCUframe® convinced.

Marco Adler, managing director of Adlerhaus, speaks about his experiences with DOCUframe®: “From the beginning, our expectations were perfectly confirmed. After One Year - Already Amortised

At Adlerhaus, the decision for DOCUframe® would be made again and again, confirmed the managing director. “We are very content with the use of DOCUframe® in our company. If there are questions, the GSD Hotline reacts competently, expertly and helpfully. Requests are worked on and solved within appropriate periods.” Rapid Return of Investment has already been achieved as Adler reports, “the investment had already paid for itself after just one year.”



What’s Next?

After the fusion with KLIMAPLUS Holzhausbau, the next step for Adlerhaus will be to develop a uniform database for the whole enterprise. The introduction of rich-menus, workflows and a uniform procedure organisation should simplify the work for Adlerhaus staff. Also, with changes in the appointment calendar management, the organisation can be further optimised.
