GSD Software is again one of Germany’s Top Innovators
Lothar Spaeth bestows the "Top 100" quality seal on the IT specialists from Upper Franconia's Stockheim-Neukenroth. GSD Software mbH is one of the 100 most innovative enterprises in the German Mittelstand (medium-sized enterprise sector). That is the result in this year's nationwide "Top 100" enterprise comparison study. 2007 marks the 15th time this initiative has determined outstanding innovation management in medium-sized enterprises. Lothar Spaeth, former Minister President of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, honoured the enterprise from Stockheim-Neukenroth with the coveted quality seal last Friday evening with a ceremony in Stuttgart's Phoenixhalle.
The Mentor of the Mittelstand project thereby honours the success of GSD Software in five central categories: innovation success, the innovation climate, the innovative process and organisation, innovation-stimulating senior management as well as innovation marketing.
The enterprise was counted for the second time, in as many years, among the innovative elite because it raises the bar in terms of functionality and usability of software solutions. The highest priority: to provide the customer with holistic, custom-made solutions, ready in the fastest possible time. With complete solutions for medium-sized enterprises, all processes can be administered, controlled and managed - from business planning and control to financial and organisational management on to planning and execution of business processes. The latest innovation from the Franconians: specialised software for the construction machine trade and machine rental, which covers the range of commerce, stock management, servicing, hire, logistics and basic management functions. New ideas like these arise only in an environment where innovation is fun and creativity is encouraged. That is certainly the case with GSD Software: the 70- strong team can access a central knowledge database and profit further from individual training courses. In addition, close co-operation with scientific institutions and universities, as well as with users from the field, constantly gives new impulses to innovate.
"Top 100" looks for and promotes medium-sized enterprises which stand out through their innovative force. Innovation experts from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, under the direction of Professor Dr. Nikolaus Franke, undertake the search. With the help of a questionnaire, the specialists first evaluate the innovations potential of the applicants. A second questionnaire serves for the evaluation of central aspects of innovation management. Franke summarises the individual results in a detailed benchmark report for each of the honored enterprises. "So, apart from the image boost, this honour has a very practical use for us", Michael Sterzl and Hans Rebhan, Managing Director of GSD Software, are pleased to point out. "With the strengths/weaknesses analysis, we can further optimise our innovations management on the basis of a well-grounded scientific evaluation."
The Mittelstand initiative is organised by Überlinger compamedia GmbH. All 100 enterprises are described in the book "Top 100 - the 100 most innovative enterprises in the Mittelstand", published by Späth. They are also presented in detail on the www.top100.de website (only offered in German) with professional press support. As "Top 100" enterprises, they also automatically belong to a network of the best innovators and profit from meetings and contacts with the other 99 top innovators. This year, over 280 enterprises applied to be among the "Top 100". The next round of the renowned Mittelstand prize starts in September 2007.
