GSD Software Presents its Own Web Service
GSD Software is presenting its own Web Service during SYSTEMS 2005. In Hall A1 at Stand 313, it will be demonstrated to you in detail. The service is available as an optional component to the well-known and proven DOCUframe® document management and archival system.
Information about the Web Service
As web services are experiencing an ever wider usage and importance, we decided to develop our own Web Service. It is based on the .NET Framework of Microsoft. A description of WGDL for the Web Service is available so that its use in different applications can be implemented quickly and easily. The user has, for example, the option of accessing their entire volume of data with the help of Web Services. The operator can also extend their own Web Service with complete fliexibility through macros and adapt it accordingly to his needs. The GSD Web Service can be addressed independently of programming languages and is, therefore, also platform independent - whether Windows, Unix or Linux, it can be operated on all platforms.

GSD Software’s sales partner, IT Consulting, has created with their GateWay solution a bridge between CAD and ERPframe® and as a result has optimised manufacturing processes.
The pressure of the rising costs of meeting customer expectations and production demands within ever shortening development times makes it necessary for enterprises to integrate model conceptualisation and construction as efficiently as possible into the manufacturing process. Here GateWay aides this integration, and achieves, in connection with Inventor and ERPframe®, full PDM functionality. From Inventor, both a data search of the data in ERPframe® can take place, as well as an automatic synchronisation of the complete data volume. From the models, the structures and parts lists are derived and can be directly processed further in ERPframe®.
GateWay is a program solution that ensures redundancy-free data volumes without double data retention and thus generates construction data efficiently and economically. In this integrated concept, out of the 3D models, building groups, parts lists and components, inclusive of their attributes, are synchronized in ERPframe®. A comparison check takes place against newly designed components, the interactive article position is established, marking is done through ERPframe® and there is a complete transfer of the building group structures and parts lists from Inventor for subsequent processing of the construction data in ERPframe®.
This supports usual modes of operation, e.g., within manufacturing plants or purpose built machines. Apart from enormous time savings with complex building groups, the advantages of this continual mode of operation are the thoroughness and accuracy of the transferred data. As a result of the use of ERPframe® and Inventor in connection with GateWay, enormous quality improvements and cost advantages arise in the enterprise.
GSD Software - one of the First Provider of a Multi-brand DMS for Motor Retailers
With the development of a multi-brand DMS for motor retailers, GSD Software’s DOCUframe® became one of the first to provide this unique software solution. Any car brand combination is centrally administered by DOCUframe®. All documents and vehicle specifications created in the flow of the individual business processes (purchasing, sales, repair, spare parts ordering, service, etc.) are archived in DOCUframe®.
In the next issue of "Autohaus Spezial,” there will be a special report about this topic. This innovative solution from GSD Software, with the AUDI Centre Osnabrueck as an example of its implementation, is presented for the first time to the public.
