With the BestPractice-IT Awards 2006, now in their third year, the best medium-sized enterprises at home and abroad were honoured.BestPractice IT shows medium-sized entrepreneurs, using real-life practical examples, how the consistent use of the latest information and communication technology creates a competitive edge. A nomination for a BestPractice-IT Award indicates a notable, innovative IT solution in the enterprise.
The BestPractice-IT Awards are awarded by an expert jury from the fields of science and economics. This year, representatives from BITKOM, the German Messe AG and the German Centre for Air and Space Travel (DLR) were part of the jury.
New in 2006 were three special prizes, donated by G+F Publishing House and Beratungs-GmbH as the initiator of BestPractice-IT, at a value of 2,500 euros each.
The deciding factor for the jury was the “E-Billing with DOCUframe®, Digital Invoicing” solution introduced at the Volz Luftfilter GmbH & Co. KG in July 2005 by GSD’s software partner, yourIT. Through this software solution, invoices are not printed and dispatched by post anymore, but automatically sent to the customers digitally as e-mails. Thereby, procedures can be simplified and considerable savings achieved. The special feature of this technical solution lies in the digital signature with which the e-mail invoices are signed. Close contact to the Finanzamt (tax office) has been maintained to be on the safe side about legal issues. With this e-Billing solution, Volz Luftfilter GmbH & Co. KG pioneers and leads the way in the medium-sized business category.
High-ranking representatives from economics and politics presented the Awards at the Forum CeBIT-Mittelstand. Accompanied by large public and media interest, the n-tv news channel screened a special report about the Forum CeBIT-Mittelstand.
Representing Volz Luftfilter GmbH & Co. KG, the prize was accepted by Mr. Schinkel and Mr. Szittariu (system administrators at Volz - see picture above). The award was presented by Mr. Hartmut Schauerte, Parliamentary State Secretary for the Federal Minister for Economics and Technology and Mr. Andreas R. Fischer, the Managing Director of G+F Publishing House GmbH.

Still only a few enterprises make use of e-Billing. However, electronic invoicing has the best prospect to become generally accepted. Enterprises that dispatch several thousand invoices annually and promptly introduce an e-Billing-solution can save considerable costs. Volz Luftfilter GmbH & Co.
